I haven't done Follow Friday or Blog Hop Tour for a little while, so I decided to participate this weekend. If YOU want to join us, check Follow Friday at Parajunkee.com and the Book Blogger Hop at Crazy-for-Books.com .
They both use Mr. Linky to create a list of blogs for us to visit. Usually there are questions to answer to help us get to know each other better.
Follow Friday's question is: Who are your favorite authors?
I have always liked Jude Deveraux because I read her books when I got back into reading when my kids were young; I like Lynn Kurland because she writes time travel and she is funny; I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Virginia Woolf and Cassandra Clare. Book Blogger Hop's question is: "What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?"
Hmmm...I just lost a follower yesterday. I have no idea why--why should I? It made me a little anxious, but I agree with Jennifer at Crazy-for-books.com when she says "I am what I am". I blog to share my thoughts with others on books. I don't blog for followers although I get very excited when someone comments and I like seeing the number of people who follow me grow. If I thought that I HAD to write something every day so that someone would comment on it, I would go crazy. I like to find interesting things to share, but it doesn't always happen. I have only been blogging for a little over 1 1/2 years and doing this has opened up the world for me. I love visiting other blogs and realizing that they are writing from England or Australia! I think you have to do this because you love it. And, if people don't love you back, well...that's life, isn't it? Of course, there are bloggers in it for financial gain or to promote their work and that's awesome, too. But, as for me, I just love books and I love all of you for loving them and sharing them, too.
Joining you from over at the hop here in the north east of England. Always of a concern when a follower disappears but I suppose that's life and I try not too dwell on it too much. Anyway, nice to meet you, I've enjoyed my visit.
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! What a beautiful site ypu have here. This blog hop has already made my day. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi, this is Nova, hopping by from novapsych!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it sad when you lose a follower? But you have a lovely blog, and I'm a follower now :)
I am still in the process of writing up my answer to the follower thing! I love having followers but I think its skewed due to publishers ect who will only give books to blogs with a high following. otherwise, I am who I am, I read what I read. I'm not going to change any of that. I think about my followers when accepting reviews. If I personally won't enjoy the book for any reason or I am unable to read it I try to find other ways to include the author on my blog... Happy Friday hop! I'll be back later this week!

hopping by!
ReplyDeletegreat answer, and mine is pretty much the same.
I agree with your approach to losing a follower. You can't make everyone happy and I am not going to change my writing style or blog appearance because of it. It is what it is. You can't make everyone happy!
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower from the hop! You can check out my answers to this week's questions at Rabid Reads or follow me on Twitter. Have a great weekend!
I'm always a little bummed when I lose followers but make every effort to
ReplyDeleteturn every lost follower into a learning experience so I can improve my
performance.
On the flip side, I only stop following people when they give me a reason to
such as being totally off message or being too controversial in an negative,
over-the-top way.
Happy Book Blogger Hop Friday!

Found you through the hop and now following!
ReplyDeleteYou are exactly where I am about blogging. It's fun. I love it. I hope other people like it too, but I probably blogged for about 6 months before I ever had any followers.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your reviews!

Dropping in from FF. I'm a new follower. I think we all love getting comments on our posts. But the most important thing is having fun and meeting new people.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll drop by and visit me.
Jennifer
Just stopping by through Follow Friday! I really like your blog! I'm a new follower! Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite authors as well. Have an awesome weekend :)
ReplyDeleteClaire @ YA Bookie Monster
Thanks for all the comments! I may not be worried about followers, BUT I LOVE GETTING COMMENTS!!! Don't you?
ReplyDeleteI agree AlleluiaL that comments are the fun part of having followers. I think it is strange that I have very few followers that I actually know so if I lose one follower oh well, I didn't know then anyway.

That is a nice logo, your daughter did a fantastic job :) Comments are definitely the best part of having followers. I actually recently lost a follower, and I'm the worrier sort who wonders why that happened.
