Follow Friday -- April 8th



To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

Every Friday we also answer a question. This week's question is:

DO YOU JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER?
My answer is: Yes, definitely. There are some books I won't even take off the shelf because of their covers (those are the ones with the bare-chested men on them) AND others that I immediately grab because of the covers. It may be superficial of me, but I have to feel comfortable walking around with a book and if the cover is embarrassing, I won't read it. It's just me.

    Yes, I surely do judge a book by the cover. Not always but more often then not. I'm known for not reading synopsis so if your cover doesn't show me what I want to know or if someone doesn't recommend it... chances are I'm reading someone else's book.

    I do. My friends once made a blog which post many kind of cover from all around the world. We started to compare it and having fun with it.

    However it's not always become the parameter for me to buy one book

    For me, it is the cover and the title that tempt me to read the blurb. If the blurb reads great, I'll grab the book. I remember the first time I saw Harry Potter's book covers, I was like, O_o...not sure if I liked them. Love the inside but the covers weren't really to my taste.

    I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

    Personally I tend to judge books after cover, yes. But it's the storyline that decides if I will give it a try. The cover only makes me want to know more! :)

    I am a horrible cover snob, unless it's an author I know or someone has recommended it to me, I won't pick a book up unless I like the cover. :P
